Connecting your Clients to your TimeClick Server

Whether your server IP has changed or the software is newly installed, setting up TimeClick is simple. Once you have installed TimeClick on your computers, the clients will ask for the IP Address of your server. To find the IP address of the server computer just follow the instructions below.

Step 1 – Find the server computer

The server computer sports the grey icon of TimeClick, whereas the clients (sometimes referred to as workstations) have a blue icon.


Step 2 – On the server computer open the command prompt

  • Windows 7: Start button -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
  • Windows 8: Right click on the Windows icon in the bottom left of the desktop. Select Command Prompt.

Step 3 – Type in ipconfig

Step 4 – Locate the IPv4 address. Write down this number

Step 5 –Now go to the client computer and input the server IP address and the default port number (12010). If your TimeClick client is giving you a fatal error “column not found…”, then navigate to All Programs -> TimeClick -> Client Config. Then select Change and enter in the information.
