Employee Time Tracking Mistakes


Are you correctly tracking your employee’s time?  Are you making employee time tracking mistakes?  Many employers are making mistakes when deciding whether or not they need to track their employee’s time based on whether their employee is exempt or non-exempt.

Not tracking your non-exempt employee timesheet or not tracking it correctly could lead to lawsuits.   Even if your employee’s don’t work any overtime or very little you should still track their time.  Suzanne Lucas a veteran of corporate human resources and the writer of EvilHrLady.org talks about “Why your boss is tracking every minute?” in one of her recent blog posts.  I’d suggest reading it to make sure you are following the law as an employer and covering your basis to accurately track your employee’s time and protecting yourself as an employer from any lawsuits regarding overtime.
